In the 2006 Marie Antoinette movie, the role of Comtesse de Polignac or Duchesse de Polignac or Princess de Polignac was played by Rose Byrne. In the Marie Antoinette movie, Kirsten Dunst as Marie Antoinette became very good friends with the Comtesse de Polignac because she made her laugh. Comtesse de Polignac was not an ideal lady in waiting. Marie Antoinette's friendship with Comtesse de Polignac was highly criticized at the court but Marie Antoinette did not do anything about it and they remained friends.
